Ninety Nine is a game of player elimination. Throughout the game, a running total of points is kept, and every card played will add to or subtract from this running total depending on the rank of the card. A player gets eliminated if every card in their hand will cause the running total to go over 99. Your goal is to be the last player remaining at the end of the game.
The game is played with the standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt four cards at the start of the game, and the rest of the cards are placed face-down in one pile. The running total of points starts at zero.
On each turn, the player chooses one card from their hand and places it face-up in the center. The running total is updated depending on the rank of the card played:
The player is eliminated if every card in their hand will cause the total to go over 99.
If the player successfully plays a card without going over 99, they then draw a card from the face-down pile to complete the turn.
The last player remaining wins the game.
