Grab Red Dots can be played with 2 to 4 players using the standard 52-card deck. The number of cards dealt to each player is as follows:
In every case, four of the remaining cards are laid face up in the center (the upcards), and the rest are placed face down in one pile (the stock).
On each turn, the player tries to match one card in their hand with one of the upcards in the center. Two cards can form a match if one of the following is true:
If a match is made, both cards are collected by the player and removed from the game. If no match is possible, the player will discard one of the cards from their hand. The discarded card joins the pool of upcards which can be used in a match by other players.
Once the player makes a match or discards a card, the player turns up the top card of the stock for a chance at getting a bonus match. If the card the player turns up forms a match with one of the upcards, both cards are again collected by the player and removed from the game. If no match can be made, the card joins the pool of upcards.
The score of each player is calculated by adding up the values of the cards collected by the players.
Each red card (i.e., hearts or diamonds) has the following value:
The ace of spades is 30 points. All other cards are 0 points.
The player with the most points wins the game.
